In this diploma thesis different possibilities of implementing programmable logic will be analyzed concerning their suitability in the design of safety-critical systems. The focus of this analysis lies on the applied languages. The starting point will be the presentation of the particular languages with their specific features. Further on, a catalogue containing criterias for evaluating the particular languages shall be prepared. It must be based on general requirements like they are named in the IEC61508 for example and on criterias from the domain of software development. Miss Li created an exemplary task with all the languages that were analyzed in order to integrate some personal experience into the evaluation.
