We congratulate our colleague Andre Stollenwerk on his successful graduation (Dr.-Ing.).

Dr.-Ing. Stollenwerk has developed a model-based safety concept for a regulated extracorporeal, patient-oriented lung support (Smart-ECLA). Hence, his research project was part of an interdisciplinary project in cooperation with the Helmholtz-Institute of RWTH Aachen and the University Hospital Aachen. Following his defence the graduate, including his individual headgear, was transported according to tradition by his colleagues and the dean to the city hall. At the city hall the graduate had to deliver a short speech to the astonished citizens of Aachen in which he had to declare the “good news” using a few selected keywords.
