Introductory course: 11.10.2023 in room 2202, main building of the computer science center, Ahornstraße 55. The exact time will be announced. The introductory event will be held in presence only and is a mandatory event. Participation in the proseminar without attending the introductory course is not possible.

In the course of this course you will be introduced to scientific work. In the introductory event everything you need to know will be discussed.

Additionally, here is the most important information:

In the proseminar there are no regular attendance dates. You will work on your assignments at home and upload them to Moodle. Feedback on your submissions will also be given via Moodle.

Important: All submissions are mandatory. This means that you will automatically fail if you miss a submission.

At the beginning of the Proseminar you will be assigned a topic and a supervisor. There are four central tasks:

1. Attending the literature research course of the computer science library
2. Writing an elaboration
3. Writing reviews for the papers of other students
4. Giving a short presentation

There are several deadlines for both the draft and the presentation slides, by which a certain status must be reached or feedback should be implemented. Details can be found after the assignment in Moodle in the descriptions of the respective submissions.

• Thematic processing (elaboration + presentation) as desired either German or English.

The registration takes place via the central allocation of proseminar and seminar places of the department https://supra.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/. Please indicate any previous knowledge there. Registration via RWTHOnline will not be considered.

Depending on whether your question is of organizational or content-related nature, you should either send an email to proseminar[at]embedded[dot]rwth-aachen[dot]de or to your supervisor. You will receive the email address of your tutor with the topic assignment.
